Variation Characteristics of Nitrogen and Phosphorus and Its Influencing Factors in the Northern Seasonal Rivers-A Case Study of Moshui River

  • Moshui River is a seasonal river into the sea in the northern Qingdao, which was taken as the study area. Monthly water sample was taken in the year of 2021.It showed that the concentration of total nitrogen was higher in winter than that in summer. Phosphorus is a potential limiting nutrient for algae growth in Moshui River. Total phosphorus content was higher in summer, but lower in winter. The sources of nitrogen and phosphorus were mainly from non-point source pollution. Nitrate nitrogen contributed most part of N content with annual average of 62.8%, followed by ammonia nitrogen and nitrite nitrogen. It was also found that water temperature has significantly affected on the cycling of nitrogen and phosphorus in nature.
