Discussion on Land Use Function Zoning in Karst Mountainous Areas of Yunnan Province Based on Resource and Environmental Carrying Capacity——A Case Study of Wenshan City

  • In order to promote the rational distribution of land use and alleviate the contradiction of land use in karst mountainous areas of Yunnan. This study took Wenshan City, a typical karst mountain area in southeast Yunnan Province, as an example. Based on GIS platform, the resource and environmental carrying capacity of Wenshan City from two aspects of constraint and security system were evaluated. Based on this, the land use functional zoning was divided and suggestions for development control of each district were put forward. The results showed that in terms of constraint system, the carrying capacity of resources and environment in Wenshan City could be divided into four grades: high, medium, low and non-carrying area, among which the medium carrying area was the largest, accounting for 39.51% of the total area, and the non-carrying area is the smallest,accounting for 7.89%. In terms of the security system, after deducting the cultivated land protection area, the actual limit population that Wenshan City can guarantee will be 77,222,900 people, which is half of the theoretical limit population capacity, indicating that there is prominent contradiction between cultivated land protection and urban scale expansion. Based on constraint system and guarantee system research results, Wenshan City could be divided into four land use functional zones: the priority development zone in central town, the urban and rural integrated development zone, the environmental protection and tourism development zone and the ecological red line protection zone. On the Basis of the characteristics of carrying capacity, location and environmental status of each area, specific development management and control suggestions were put forward according to local conditions. The research results would provide reference for Wenshan City to protect ecological environment,alleviate the contradiction between human and land, and formulate regional development strategy, and also refer for similar karst areas to control rocky desertification.
