Analysis of the Coupling Coordination Degree and Influencing Factors between New-Type Urbanization and Carbon Emission Levels in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region

  • This study selected 13 cities in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region as research subjects and calculated the levels of new urbanization and carbon emissions in the area. By using a coupling coordination degree model, the coupling coordination relationship between the two was analyzed and constructed a random effects Tobit model to explore the various factors influencing this relationship. The results showed that the level of new urbanization in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region was gradually rising, while the overall changes in carbon emissions remain relatively stable; the coordination relationship has shifted from being on the verge of imbalance to a moderately coordinated state. The proportion of the urban population, the level of human capital, regional development levels, and technological capabilities all had a significant positive impact on the degree of coupling coordination, while the level of industrialization had an insignificant negative effect.
