Discussion of the Determination of Volatile Phenol by Extraction Using 4-aminoantipyrine and the Selection Methods of Purifying 4-aminoantipyrine

In this paper, a reasonable method was selected to purify 4-aminoantipyrine to solve the problem of high blank value and the amount of the purifying agent in the determination of volatile phenol. The accuracy and precision of the method were verified to meet the requirements of the national standard method. 4-aminoantipyrine was purified by active carbon and magnesium silicate adsorbent. This purifying method obviously decreased the blank value, increase the accuracy with simpler steps, which is one ideal method.
