Study on Application of Carbonized Sludge on Landscape Soil
-
Abstract
The sewage sludge was used as the research object, and the impact of substrate containing different percentage of carbonized sludge on ground cover plants and landscape plants was studied in order to explore reasonable utilization of sewage sludge. The results showed that as an amendment of landscape substrate, carbonized sludge mitigated low soil pH, decreased soil bulk density, increased soil porosity and aeration porosity, and increased soil organic matter, total nitrogen and Olsen P. The improvement of soil properties increased germination rate of ground cover plants and growth of ground diameter and seedling height of landscape plants. In general, 50% of carbonized sludge in substrate was superior to others.
