Experimental Study on the Pyrolysis of Rice Husk under Different Preheating Conditions

  • Rice husk pyrolysis can further alleviate issues of resource wastage and environmental pollution. Different pre-treatments of rice husk lead to varying pyrolysis outcomes. In this study, rice husk was pre-treated using vacuum, hot air, and microwave drying methods, with the aim of collecting and analyzing weight loss during pyrolysis and the yield of three-phase products, while calculating the activation energy through the Flynn-Wall-Ozawa method. Characterization and analysis of pyrolysis products were conducted using SEM, GC-MS, and XRD techniques. The results indicated that microwave-treated rice husk exhibited increased surface porosity, the highest weight loss rate during pyrolysis at the same heating rate, the highest average activation energy, while the highest solid product yield was observed after hot air treatment.
