Radiation Environmental Impact and Protection Safety of X-ray Flaw Detection for Yunnan Dawei Equipment

  • By estimating the structure and shielding effectiveness of the existing flaw detection room at Dawei Equipment, this study defines the operation area within the room and evaluates the dose rate control indicators and protective effects for key points outside the room. For mobile flaw detection, the dose rates of the primary beam, leakage radiation, and scattered radiation in the operation area were estimated under different scenarios using specific protective measures. These estimations guide the rational division of control and supervision areas for flaw detection operations. Through the analysis of radiation protection and operational requirements for the detection room, as well as the radiation protection for mobile operations, it is concluded that the industrial X-ray flaw detection at Dawei Equipment meets the justification principle of radiation protection, and the impact of detection operations on the regional radiation environment is controllable.
