Application of UASB+SBR Combined Technology in Piggery Wastewater Treatment

Aiming at the problems of insufficient processing capacity and substandard effluent quality of wastewater treatment facilities in a pig farm in Changli County, Hebei Province, UASB+SBR combined technology was adopted and the processing capacity was designed as 750 m³/d. This article introduced the technological process and main design parameters, investigated the effect of the combined technology on wastewater treatment, and analyzed construction investment and operating cost. The running results showed that the technology had a stable water flow and an obvious enhanced water quality effect; the average removal efficiency of COD, BOD₅, SS and NH₃-N was 98.1%, 97.5%, 91.9% and 78.6%, respectively. The major pollutant indexes in the effluent all reached “Discharge Standard of Pollutants For livestock and Poultry Breeding（GB18596-2001）”.
