Enlightenment from the Compilation Experience of Domestic Sewage Treatment Technical Guidelines of the Various Regions of China for Yunnan Province

The formulation of local technical guidelines for rural domestic sewage treatment can regulate the design, construction, operation and management of sewage treatment facilities, which will contribute to guiding rural domestic sewage treatment and improving its efficiency. 17 localities in China have successively issued(trial) local technical guidelines(or specifications), while Yunnan has not yet issued an official one. By comparing and analyzing the characteristics and formulating experience of the technical guidelines of various regions(selection of pollutant control indicators and limits, recommended sewage treatment process etc.). Combining the problems of rural dispersion, uneven sewage treatment, low collection rate, and low coverage of treatment facilities in the process of rural sewage treatment in Yunnan, the enlightenment were concluded as followed: the technical guidelines according to local conditions needs to develop, the practicality and adaptability need to fully considered, the reutilization of sewage resources should be the first choice when the actual condition is allowed,and it is appropriate to introduce and develop new technologies.
