Estimation and Forecast of Volatile Organic Compounds Emitted from Maintenance Processes in Yunnan Automobile Maintenance Industry

  • Based on the current consumptions of VOCs raw and auxiliary materials used in investigated enterprises. The emission factor method was used to estimate the VOCs emissions of Yunnan automobile maintenance industry. Scenario analysis method was applied to forecast the future VOCs emissions as well. The results showed that the total VOCs emission of 2314 investigated automobile maintenance companies was about 2797.10t. Based on this standard, the VOCs amount emitted from maintenance processes in 2018 in Yunnan was 7198.35t This number would increase to14131.64t in 2026 if no further control measures would be implemented. Through the improvement of VOCs raw and auxiliary materials quality, increasing productivity of waste gas treatment equipment, would reduce 53.76% of VOCs emissions compare to current emissions. The most effective measures to control the VOCs emission of Yunnan automobile maintenance industry would be to improve the quality of VOCs raw and auxiliary materials.
