The Removal Technology of Mercury from the Flue Gas of Fired Coal

Abstract
The sources,forms,damages and removal efficiency of mercury in fired coal flue gas were introduced.The roles of dust removal unit and selected redox denitration equipment and desulfurizing installation on mercury removal efficiency were analyzed. The impacts of solid oxide catalyst and halogen additives on the catalytic oxidation of elemental mercury were analyzed as well to study the technological difficulties of the types of the catalytic oxidation of elemental mercury and deacidizing mercury in the process of desulfurization. The key issues of removing mercury for a fired coal power plant based on the monitoring data were how to increase the oxidation efficiency of elemental mercury by selected redox denitration,how to improve the sulfur-proof and stability of the catalyst to protect the equipment from corrosion,and how to promote the absorbing efficiency of wet desulfurization unit and develop the separation technology of mercury sediments of the absorbing solution.
