Application of GIS Technology in Vegetation Status Investigation in Wind Power Farm-An Example of a Wind Power Farm in Yunnan Province

In recent years,wind power has developed rapidly as a clean energy source. Many alpine wind farm have been built. The location of alpine wind farm is mainly located in the mountain ridges. These areas are usually steep and difficult to reach due to their terrain. It is less disturbed by humans and the vegetation is relatively well preserved. The construction of wind farm will cause damage to the vegetation ecological environment in these areas.Taking a wind farm in Yunnan as an example,this paper investigated the status quo of vegetation and plant resources in the wind farm site by combining GIS technology before the construction of the wind farm,and analyzed the current state of vegetation ecology in this area scientifically and objectively,based on which,optimization suggestions and opinions for the layout of wind farm projects were proposed.
