Abstract: In this paper, through studying the calculation method of insertion loss after the sound barrier is set in line source, the determination method of the noise reduction target value in highway project design was defined, the formula for calculating the sound barrier size was derived, and the calculation was carried out by an example. The calculation results had good applicability with the current norms, and could be used as the basis for determining the acoustic barrier size in the process of environmental impact assessment.
