Abstract: The soil degradation and pollution in Yunnan has attracted a great deal of concerns. At present, the projects on soil pollution control and remediation mainly depend on governmental financial funds, and the fund source is very limited. Many urgent projects cannot be conducted, which restricted the progress of soil environment restoration in Yunnan. In order to broaden the fund sources, the establishment of Yunnan soil pollution prevention and control fund is recommended. This fund will provide a stable source of funds for soil environmental protection in Yunnan, which is of great significance. This paper analyzed the background and policy of the establishment of the fund, the research progress, the basic situation of soil quality in Yunnan and the difficulties faced in the establishment of the fund, and put forward some thoughts and suggestions on the establishment of the fund. This work would provide a useful reference for the establishment of soil pollution prevention and control fund in Yunnan.
