Abstract:
The Kaya identity of carbon footprint in Xi'an was built based on the method by IPCC. The amount of carbon footprint in Xi'an was calculated using LMDI method. The degree of the factors affecting the carbon footprint was quantitatively analyzed. The results showed that economic development was the primary factor to promote the growth of carbon footprint in Xi'an,followed by the carbon footprint per unit of industrial energy consumption,then population size. Energy intensity was the main factor to restrain the growth of carbon footprint,followed by the proportion of industrial energy consumption. According to the analysis results,it proposed that the slow growth of carbon footprint could be achieved from the aspects of supply-side structural reform,moderately increasing population size,improving energy use efficiency,and optimizing energy structure.
