Abstract: This paper examined the critical role of meteorological services in air pollution prevention and control, analyzing how meteorological data supported environmental monitoring, forecasting, and emergency response. Through case studies across diverse regions, the article demonstrated that meteorological services enhanced pollutant monitoring accuracy, providing a scientific basis for governments to formulate effective environmental policies. For instance, during severe pollution episodes, real-time meteorological data enabled authorities to issue timely warnings, reducing public exposure risks. The paper also discussed collaborative mechanisms between meteorological and environmental protection agencies, highlighting the importance of information sharing and technical support. Finally, it proposed future directions including smart meteorological technologies and international cooperation, offering innovative pathways to achieve sustainable development goals.
