Abstract:
The soil and maize contaminated by heavy metals such as lead, arsenic and cadmium were sampled and determined in the Dazhaicun copper mining and smelting area of Dongchuan District. The single factor pollution index and Nemerow multi-factor index method were adopted to evaluate the pollution status. In the study area, Cd in the soil exceeded the standard, with the exceeding rate of 100%. Pb, As and Cu did not exceed the standard, with the exceeding rate of 0; the pollution index of Pb, As and Cu was less than 0.7, indicating that it was not polluted; the pollution index of Cd was 2. 18, greater than 2 and less than 3, indicating moderate pollution. The heavy metal elements Cd, Pb and Cu in corn exceed the standard, and the over-standard rates are 60%, 30% and 90%, respectively. The pollution index of Cd is greater than 3, which meant heavily pollution; the pollution index of Pb and Cu was greater than 2 and less than 3, which meant moderately pollution; the pollution index of As was less than 0.7, which meant no pollution, and the pollution degree was Cu > Cd > Pb > As.
